The NX2031 is a member NetXen's Intelligent NIC^® family of highly integrated, fully programmable network controllers designed to process multigigabit network I/O streams. The NX2031 has two 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.

The NX2031 is built around NetXen's custom High-Performance Protocol Processing Engine (PPE). The PPE is a hybrid compute element; it is a general purpose processing engine that is highly optimized for data sequencing operations that typically present themselves in the I/O domain. The PPE has an extremely efficient, highly parallel architecture.
